What is Discipleship Counseling?
According to Dr. Neil Anderson, the author and creator of this type of counseling, it is an integrative process that helps Christians establish their identity and freedom in Christ through repentance and faith in God. Discipleship Counseling is designed to lead a Christian to resolve their personal and spiritual issues before God, so they can live the life of blessing Christ promises in the Gospels.
Dr. Anderson based Discipleship Counseling on two books, Victory over the Darkness (resolving personal conflicts and The Bondage Breaker (resolving spiritual conflicts). We also use the Steps to Freedom in Christ as a process of personal inventory, confession and repentance which leads the person to resolve their personal and spiritual issues before God.
If you are in the bondage of bitterness, and trapped by unforgiveness; have trouble accepting yourself and feel overcome by the circumstances of life; you are living by your feeling, mostly hurt feelings, instead of living by faith in the power of the Holy Spirit; you are living according to your fleshly desires instead of being led by the Holy Spirit; and are unable to discipline your mind due to harmful habits, negative thinking and irrational feelings, the Freedom in Christ Discipleship, Victory over the Darkness and Bondage Breaker classes and individual Encourager sessions can help you.
Dr. Sandra Little is a trained Encourager and facilitator for the Freedom in Christ, Victory over the Darkness, and Bondage Breaker classes. The first Freedom in Christ Class will be held on Saturday, February 14th, 2026 at the Divine Purpose Fellowship Hall located at 21100 TN-196, Arlington, Tn starting at 10:00 am. The class is free of charge, but you will need to purpose the participants guide that will be available at the location for a small fee of 10.00 dollars.
